FINALLY! FLOWCOAT CHOPPING (THE WAY IT SHOULD BE)

GS Superflow Chopper GS Mfg., Costa Mesa, California introduces their "SUPERFLOW" flowcoat chopper gun in January 1998. After one year of in-house R & D, the "Flowmeister", Gary Smith, has developed the ultimate in flow coating guns. Field testing has proven the new patented gun out performs any flowcoat system--side by side-- SEEING IS BELIEVING!

"A year ago, when we started on this project, our first attempt was pretty good, probably about where the competition is today", says Smith, "But flowcoat chopping presents some unique challenges:"

#1 MIXING - (The elimination of spray tip reduces the back pressure in an internal-mix head). The patented F1 head/nozzle virtually eliminates any "candy stripping" or "pulsing" of unmixed resin seen on some new flowcoaters.

#2 PATTERN - (Fingers, but no solid pattern) The patented GS "Flat-Flow Tips" delivers an excellent resin pattern-unequaled in the field.

#3 PLUGGED TIPS - (Biggest complaint from flowcoat users) The GS "Flat-Flow Tip" is a completely new design, not a copy. Why doesn't it plug like the others? "Sorry-trade secret".

#4 GLASS PATTERN - (The glass wants to blow through or bounce off the resin streams) The GS "outlaw" chute on the chopper motor cover gives the operator total directional control over the glass. Coupled with the "Flat-Flow" resin pattern, the glass goes on the mold where it should be, not on the floor or bouncing in mid-air. The glass lays flat for minimum roll-out---no "cotton balling" or bridging of the glass fibers like brand X.

#5 TIP CHANGES - (Different nozzle for different parts) The GS "Flat-Flow Tip" is used for everything-small female molds or 100 foot hulls. The pattern is there at a low pump delivery or when it's cranked-up. The gun continues to perform the way it should!

This new lightweight gun/chopper package will set a new standard for the composites industry. The reduction in VOC emissions using a flowcoat chopper is a "no-brainer". However, it took the "Flowmeister" to perfect the application.
